Friends of Kamal Joumblatt Association

Kamal Joumblatt’s contemporary friends, admirers, supporters, as well as old comrades, are still inspired by the (Al-Moallem) thought and visions on the process of cultural development far from Chauvinistic restrictions and sectarian conflicts. Accordingly, such restrictions and conflicts would always stand as a barrier that impedes the establishment of the community of justice and equity in Lebanon; they would always obstruct the achievement of Lebanon’s honest interaction with its Arab and international surrounding in the course of globalization which Kamal Joumblatt once sought as “humane” rather than materialistic.

Three decades have passed the martyrdom of Kamal Joumblatt, yet his thought remains the beacon that enlightens the path of political, intellectual and humanitarian struggle; this reality simultaneously imposes itself, on Lebanese and Arabs.

Life is the only means to transcend with the soul.

In the creation of the new world and the new man, our success depends on human institutions and their ability to make freedom compatible with consciousness.

Is civilization anything more than the openness of a free human mind and its perfect practice at the conscience and social level?

Man is the son of man in civilization, intellect, emotion… happiness

Real great men are those luminous lights … May God make our light, enfolded in our sacred souls, keep enlightenening our path.

We want an elite that could say to the coming generations, “I have completed my mission.”

The universe is in continuous creation: We have to work hard on achieving the goals of development to be in harmony with the life of the universe.

Could we ever silence the call for humanity and its demands within us? That is impossible.

I am quite sure that your generation would know happiness if it could differentiate between the knowledge of things and the knowledge of truth.

Let our struggle be not for personal interests, but for building the community of equity, integrity and justice.

The true immortality: is the immortality of humanity in man.

We have to wait, as the plowmen wait for the wheat grains to sprout.

The ear could not sprout out of the wheat grain unless the grain itself dies.

We plant for others and work for someone else… this is the best of work and the finest of planting.
